About Frank Annunziata (1949–2022)
Born in Brooklyn, Frank Annunziata enjoyed a remarkable five-decade career as a guitarist, producer, and musical director. After studying under NYC legends Van Moretti and Barry Galbraith, Frank was signed to Jimi Hendrix’s Suns and Rainbows label at age 23 with his band Mushroom. He went on to work extensively at The Record Plant in NYC alongside producer Roy Cicala, co-producing The Mamas & The Papas, collaborating with Richie Havens as his longtime Musical Director, and playing backup vocals for John Lennon during the historic Double Fantasy / Season of Glass era sessions in December 1980. Frank later produced the 1989 benefit album ...And So This Is Christmas featuring daytime soap opera stars, composed the iconic Red Lobster commercial theme in the 1990s, and spent his later career touring globally as Musical Director for Peter Noone (Herman’s Hermits), Billy J. Kramer, and the Solid Silver 60s Tour.
