Some of the features include:

  • EXCEPTIONAL FIND: two children's chairs, a high chair and another parlour chair from a 1996 sale of items from the Ellicott's from Ellicott Mills in MD,

    Here's the historical context - This Quaker family took Benjamin Banneker into their care and helped him be educated.  Banneker surveyed part of Washington DC before it was built and was one of the best known educated African American men of the 18th century.  One chair has painted allusions to one of the Ellicotts.

  • artwork by Reston Artists - Connie Slack, Belfield, and Macintyre
