Kohlhepp & Hopkins Firearms Auction: Proceeds Benefit Victims and Families

Meares Property Advisors is offering 147 firearms from two South Carolina criminal cases: Todd C Kohlhepp of Spartanburg County, and Frederick Hopkins of Florence, whose 2018 ambush took the lives of two law enforcement officers. The proceeds go toward the victims, the families of the fallen officers and the survivors. We’ve handled two previous sales connected to the Kohlhepp case, and we approach this one with the same purpose: to turn what remains into something that helps the people who were harmed.

We ask bidders to keep that purpose in mind. Questions about individual firearms are welcome. We won’t discuss the details of either case.

From the Todd Kohlhepp Case:

Non-Firearm Items:  The shipping container from the case, the Kubota tractor, safes and other items will be included.

Firearms:  This group is made up of modern handguns and long guns: 10 pistols, 1 revolver, 3 rifles and 1 shotgun. It includes Beretta 92FS and Model 96 pistols, a Glock 21, a SIG Mosquito, a Smith & Wesson Model 37 Airweight, a PTR-91 in .308, a Smith & Wesson M&P 15 in .300 Blackout, a Remington Model 700 in .270 Win, and a Remington Model 11 in 16 gauge.

From the Frederick Hopkins Case: 132 lot collector-grade offering that leans heavily toward silhouette and target shooting:

  • U.S. martial arms: five M1 Garands (Springfield Armory and H&R), a Springfield Model 1903, Remington and Eddystone M1917s, M1 Carbines by Inland and Blue Sky, and a Springfield M1A in 7.62 NATO
  • Military surplus from around the world: FN Model 1949 Egyptians, an FN 1924/30 Venezuelan Mauser, a Chilean 1895 Mauser, a Czech VZ 24, a Mauser 98, an Erfurt K98, a Swiss K31 and an Enfield No. 4 Mk I
  • Dan Wesson revolvers (17): includes the rarely seen SuperMags in .357 Max, .375, .414 and .445 SuperMag, along with 715, 722-VH and 744-VH models
  • Silhouette and specialty pistols: Wichita Arms MK-40 and International models, Remington XP-100s, Thompson/Center Contenders, Encores and Super 14s, and Anschutz Exemplar and 64P pistols
  • Fine handguns: Colt Government Model and MK IV Series 80 1911s, Kimber Stainless Target II (10mm) and Ultra Carry II, FN Hi-Power Mark III, Walther PPK/S, and a Mauser Bolo
  • Sporting rifles and shotguns: Ruger No. 1 in .458 Lott, Winchester Model 70s and a Big Bore 94, Remington 700s, Remington 541-S Custom Sporters, an FN PS90, a Ruger Red Label over-and-under, and Mossberg 590s
