Lot 87.   HONDIUS 1599 PORTRAITS OF REFORMATION NOTABLES: Engraver, etcher, draughtsman and publisher, part of a Dutch family of printmakers and publishers of Flemish descent, active in The Hague. These engravings are by Hendrick Hondius the Elder (1573-1649). Illustrations are from “Icones Virorum Nostra Patrumq. Memoria Illustrium…”which was published in Amsterdam 1599. 
A.)  “Rudolphus Gualterus”. Initials “HHf” upper right. Four lines of Latin text beneath.  Copper plate engraving on hand laid paper. Image 6.5” high by 4 ¾” wide on larger sheet.  Museum matting. Lot 103:  17th Century German Map , Cluver, Philip, Leyden mid-1600s: “Germaniae Populorium inter Rhenum et Albim amneis ut a Trajam imperio, et cima Marcellini aetatem incoluerunt, description Auctore Phillippo Cluverio”. Published in Leiden & Amsterdam, 1629-1729. Likely from Introductionis in Universam Geographiam tam Veterem quam Novum. Size: 10 1/4” by 13 ½”. Full hand color may be later. VF. Matted & covered with protective acetate sheet. 

Lot 104:  CARY: “A New Map of the United Provinces, Comprehending Holland, Zealand, Utrecht, Gelders, Overyssel, Friesland and Groningen ...” Date: 1799. Size: 46 x 51 cm. (18 x 20 in.) [HxW] Condition: Original full pastel color with extensive staining lower portion. Poor.
