Richard Weers Original Oil Paintings- Richard Weers' bio as provided to the estate owner by Mainview Gallery, Scottsdale AZ: Richard Weers began his professional career as an artist in 1974. His formal art education was extensive. Weers received his BA degree from Texas Lutheran College and completed two years of pst graduate study in Art Education at Southwest Texas State University. Weers furthered his artistic talents with studies at the Art Students League in New York City, Scottsdale Artists’ School and the Fechin institute in Taos, New Mexico. The paintings of Richard Weers are a medley of textures. The main focus of his paintings is the interplay of light and shadow in illuminating his subjects in a classical, realistic manner. Richard’s current subjects include still life, figures and landscapes.
Richard Weers has received national as well as international recognition for his works of art. His paintings are in private and corporate collections throughout the world including China, Japan, Saudi Arabia, and most notably in the collection of Prince Charles of England. Jeff 'Bluewater' Hopkins “Jeff is proud of his native ‘Blue’ which emanates from his material lineage of Mariah Shellnut, daughter of Chief ‘Blue’ Shellnut of the eastern band of the Cherokee nation. ‘Water’ springs form the Mother Earth in the swamps and rivers which surrounded him as a boy where he explored the mysteries of nature. On his modest ranch in Coosa nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountain a few miles from the Cherokee of New Echota. ‘Blue Waters’ stone lodge home and two ponds were supplied by spring water which freely flowed from the mountain on which they rested. Jeff’s studio is located in Wyoming where it overlooks Spirit Mountain in Cod; a special mountain respondent with American Indian History and much inspiration for Jeff’s Creations. Now in the heartland of Native America, Jeff is better able to visit the many reservations that are nearby to acquire the exquisite beadwork which adorns many his newly created artifacts.
