Mrs. Brockman and her late husband, in addition to collecting mementos from their travels and acquiring furnishings of their own taste, inherited distinctive items from her great uncle and aunt, Admiral and Mrs. Clarence S. Williams, through her uncle and aunt, Captain and Mrs. Edgar M. Williams. Admiral Williams was the former President of the Naval War College and Commander-in-Chief of the Asiatic Fleet. These sophisticated, world travelers acquired a wide variety of furniture, art, textiles, and accessories that are being offered in this sale.
