This Mid Century Modern home in Sacramento will remind you of the style, character and strength of the greatest generation -- so called by journalist Tom Brokaw to refer to American citizens who came of age during the Great Depression and the Second World War and went on to build modern America.

This home belongs to an independent, exceptional 94-year-old woman, who moved from the Midwest to California at age 18. Having lost her father at age 8, she worked hard to put herself through UCLA, earning an accounting degree and working 13 years as a successful career woman -- including a stint as a factory worker during the second World War. 

Mixing a bit of Rosie the Riveter with Mary Tyler Moore, she met her husband and married, having her first child at age 35. 

As a suburban wife and mother, she took on her new role with the same excellence -- with a well-equipped kitchen, furnishings designed to last, beautifully sewn garments, and many happy days hosting bridge and pool parties and winning golf and tennis tournaments.
