Our 1881 Historically important farmhouse contains hundreds of African American publications including Negro Digest from 1940-1970, Ebony Magazines from the 1960's through 1979. "The Crisis Magazine", Negro History Bulletin 1940s-50s, Rare Books-1889 Copy of "The College of Life: Practical Self-Educator Manual of Self-improvement for the Colored Race". Original copy of Kelly Miller's history of the world war for human rights (WWI), "The Negro in Our History" Carter Woodson, Two Colored Women with the American Expeditionary Forces (WWI). America: Red, White, Black and Yellow by Fausen, Langston Hughes, Malcom-X. 2 Copies of the History of the Hampton Colored School, 1940 era facsimiles that outline every "Colored School" System in NJ, before WWII, Cabinet Card Photos of African Americans, American Negro Slave Revolts by Herbert Aptheker. A 10 x14 autographed photo of Leigh Whipper, an Early African American actor and one of the first black members of the Actors' Equity Association (1913), early Song books with Negro spirituals, plus much more ephemera related to the African American experience in the America. Kipling's The Jungle Book-second edition print copy, General Magazines and books include 1930s-40's era Fortune, Asia, Travel, Nature, Life, more. Furniture includes a spectacular gothic hall chair nice early Federal style China hutch, Piano stool, library table, Tea-cart with medallion, gorgeous spinning card table, balloon back petit point sampled occasional chair, serpentine front secretary desk, ornate steamer trunk plus other trunks, triptych mirror vanity in original finish, Eastlake upright desk, quarter sawn oak Morris style desk chair, Dep. Era waterfall Bedroom dresser, old bookcases, antique wicker porch furniture and vintage 50's era wicker bedroom furniture, plus more.
