Listing Information

Nestled away in Little Forest Hills are homes like no others in Dallas.  Each one unique; each one hiding treasures behind the facade.  The home we are at is no exception.  We are presenting the living estate of renowned artist and photographer Grover Sterling.  Not only does he create wonderful works of art, he also collectes them.   Now he is sharing them, allowing others the joy of owning their own.

There is a large selection of lamps.  Lamps that don’t even look like lamps; some are made with coke bottles, some with old cameras, many of them have old fire extinguishers as the base.  Some have beaded fringe that sparkle when you turn them on.  We have sculptures by Rodo Padilla, handmade dolls, photos and more negatives than you can count!

The antiques are quite exceptional: heavy, hand-carved dining set with matching buffet is looking for just the right person to go home with.  There are side tables, oak filing cabinet, decorative chests for the floor or the wall, The hand-carved curio cabinet is a sight to behold!  As is the ladies painted bedroom suite, the queen headboard with Retablo Mexican tin Catholic Christian Folk art inserts and the antique hand carved oak closet.  The coffee table is a very unique piece in that it is an old industrial factory warehouse cart on wheels!  Sturdy construction and a great conversation piece.  As is the tobacco table!

There are collections of antiques, too: cans, bottles, tins, Christmas ornaments and cigar boxes.

For the photographer, if you are looking to build a studio or just adding to your current one, this is the place to be.  Umbrellas, filters, lighting sets, tripods and backdrops.  Just about everything you need.  We also have mounting board, photographic paper and pre-cut mats.

The kitchen is home to the Kenmore, front loading, washer and dryer, small kitchen appliances, pots and pans, and an awesome hammered copper pitcher.  There is a set of utensils and cutlery with stag handles.

A beautiful, white pearl drum kit by Evans is waiting in the master bedroom for their next gig.

Outside you will find great vintage patio furniture, yard art, herbs planted in storage tubs, tool boxes from Craftsmen and Husky, ladies riding saddle, coke bottles and wooden crates.  There is also a Weber grill and a Tentrax trailer.

We can not accurately describe the fantastic items here.  Words just can’t paint the picture!  The photos can give you a good idea, but you need to come see, in person, the creativeness and the beauty for yourself.   Stop by for your own piece of original Grover Sterling work!
