Listing Information

JUST LET LYNN DO IT! is pleased to present the Living Estate of Mr. McCarty Dowell, a descendent of one of the Founding Families of McKinney, Texas.

TRAVEL BACK IN TIME WITH US as you peruse this lovely CIRCA 1920's HIGHLAND PARK TWO-STORY MANSE.  Begin your journey in the grand Living Room with two separate sitting areas full of Original Paintings and Beautiful Carved and Upholstered Antique Furniture.  Admire the Antique French Large Round Gilded Mirror above the fireplace.  FAMILY HEIRLOOMS ABOUND.  Beautiful Rugs.  Cloisonne' Vases.  Chinese Urns.  The large tall carved Victorian Secretary will peak your interest.  Across the room the Marble Topped Neoclassical Sideboard filled to the brim with Gorgeous Cut Crystal and decorated with Antique and Vintage Majolica will take your breath away.  You glance into the book-filled Sunroom and you can almost hear the "tinkling of the ivories" from the Baby Grand Piano.  You love the Miniature Figures on the Antique Side Table.

Crossing the Foyer, you look up to appreciate the Prism Laden Chandelier, but then notice the Antique French Trumeau Mirror on the wall.  Interesting Vintage World Globes.  The list of things you want is getting longer.  But you're about to be in even more trouble.

You see the Dining Room.  A gorgeous long Estate-sized Dining Table packed from end-to-end with china and crystal from around the world glistening in the sun.  Over the Early 1900's Sideboard, you see the most incredible Antique French Gold Leaf Mirror.  How could they possibly have left that behind?  You will find a wall!  And you might have to have the Antique Mantel Clock just below it.

You find yourself in the Den....the "Land of Blue and White".  Antique Flow Blue China.  Asian Porcelain of all shapes and sizes.  So many ginger jars throughout the house.  An Antique Family Bible Stand.  Another beautiful Antique Secretary.  An Ecclesiastical Candlestick so tall it is resting on the floor between two chairs.  German Beer Steins.  You look out the back window and see a YARD FULL of Antique and Vintage Concrete Yard Art, Benches, Planters, etc.  You "have to have" that Concrete Pagoda!

Usually the Kitchen and Breakfast areas are not your thing, but you wander in and are glad you did.  There is a Charming Vintage Breakfast Table with Matching Chairs and Mini-sideboard.  It almost has a GOTHIC feel to it.  You consider painting it to match your walls at home.  But then you kind of like it the way it is.  Hmmm.  You see sets of China, Stemmed Glassware, Colored Glassware, Mixing Bowls, Pressed Glass, Painted Porcelain, Vintage Corning Ware, Cookware....a "plethora" of vases!!  And SO MANY COPPER MOLDS!!!

One of the JUST LET LYNN DO IT! sales staff asks you if you've been upstairs yet.  They tell you about the "must-see" Eastlake Bedroom Suite and the Charming Victorian Ceiling Fixture above.  They tell you the four bedrooms are packed.  Antique Lace Pillows.  Antique and Vintage Quilts.  Clocks.  Lamps.  Another Antique Secretary.  Loads of Vanity and Sewing Miscellaneous.  An Antique Phone.  Vintage Mirrors.  Antique Fashion Prints.  They tell you the Master Bedroom is set up like a Department Store for Women's Designer Clothing (Sizes 10-14), Shoes and Handbags.  There is even a Bridal Gown in its "Keepsake" box.  Go in the blue bathroom, they tell you.  See the Antique Wicker and their personal favorite.....the Murano Controlled Bubbles Blue Glass Vanity Jar.

You find that you spend as much time upstairs as you did downstairs.  Time seems to drift.  You look out one of the windows and see that the detached garage is "open for business".  So, this must be where the overflow of Holiday Decorations are being sold, you think to yourself.  You head that way.  You love the box of ceramic rabbits.  You have a friend that would love the old trunks for one of her bedrooms. The Antique Papier Mache' Santa Claus is charming.   Look.....a Mid-Century Ceiling Light Fixture.  A "Knights of Columbus" Uniform, complete with feathered hat and adornments.

This has been so much fun.....YOU HATE TO LEAVE.....but it will take you awhile to pack your SUV with all the amazing treasures......so you drag yourself away.....
