Listing Information

They met in Japan in 1956. He was an Army Captain and a doctor on the base. She taught 3rd grade to American kids on the base. After 6 months of dating they were engaged. They traveled Japan extensively, collecting wherever they went. Jean had her wedding dress handmade in Japan before she left to marry Vic in Brooklyn. They eventually moved to the bay area, as Jean was from Palo Alto. From the beginning they shared a love of culture- travelling, arts, food, and opera. They traveled the world together and you will see this in their collections. Their Spanish home went through a wonderful remodel in the early 90's under the keen eye of Jean (than an interior decorator) incorporating many original pieces into the “new” house along with the art they collected from their travels, make this home truly fabulous. They had a strong love of antiques and a very eclectic collection of art; Asian, Italian, French, Spanish, as well as American made.  Vic was an original foodie, and accomplished potter. I found them to be the original power couple, their family lovingly refers to them as the "Dynamic Duo".  I am sure you will love attending this sale, as I have loved working in this beautiful home built on over 2 acres in Saratoga.
