Listing Information
Hi Everyone-OLE SUSANNAH'S ESTATE SALES is having a sale this weekend! DATES: Friday, July 11 9:00 a.m. - 3:00pm (Open to Public) Saturday, July 12 9:00 a.m.- 3:00 p.m. Sunday, July 13 1:00 p.m.- 3:00 p.m. (HALF- PRICE SALE) LOCATION: 3506 Deborah Dr. (Corner of Forsythe & Deborah Dr., Monroe) This is the estate sale of Nell and "Jiggs" Finn. Nell has gone to live with one of her daughters in another state and has trusted us with some of her most prized possessions (many bought in New Orleans). They were avid antique collectors and have many fine (especially Oak) pieces of furniture. Jiggs was in Marketing & Transportation for some of the big oil companies and one of his items, an old Shell Oil glass bottle, is for sale. HISTORY LESSON 101: I did not realize there were boots with spurs "on the ground" during WWI. I've always thought of cowboys wearing spurs. We need a history lesson from our veterans! We found one spur at this estate sale. Our good friend, Dr.Frank Bennett, (He used to shop with me at Ole Susannah's Antique store over thirty--well let's just say a long time ago.), looked at it and saw the US stamp and a number. We looked it up on EBay and found the identical spurs with the same "hangy down thing" on the side of the iron. Without Frank's expertise about iron-a bit of history could have slipped through our hands. I found out from Mary, one of the Finn's daughters, that the spur belonged to her great uncle and this one is the only one they've ever had in her family. We were not going to sale the spur but their family has already donated lots of items to the Chennault Aviation Museum, so they hope that a veteran or a person who collects military items will purchase the lone spur. Ask to see it- a wonderful piece of our history. A special thanks to our servicemen and servicewomen who have sacrificed so much for our country! To view Pictures go to: olesusannahsestatesales.com FURNITURE: Beautiful four poster queen bed with Sealy Posturepedic mattress and matching dresser & mirror (bought at Burns & Newell/like new), unfinished chest of drawers (2) and swing from Martha's Unfinished Furniture, (2) Sleeper sofas, (2) love seats, Singer sewing machine with table, Duncan Phyfe dining table with chairs, china cabinet, antique oak sideboard with mirror, antique oak dressers with marble tops and mirrors, rugs, two double beds with dressers, occasional chairs and tables, mirrors, vintage record player, etc. GLASSWARE: Crystal, Cut Glass, American Fostoria, Limoges, crystal stemware, Annie Glass, vintage Pyrex, corning ware KITCHEN: Serving bowls, Magnelite, lots of cookbooks, stainless salad bowls, stainless kitchen utensils, single and side by side refrigerator/freezer, Maytag washer and dryer, baking accessories, appliances, pots & pans, lots of heavy cookware, copper, ---lots more! MISCELLANEOUS: linens, books, artwork, lamps, jewelry, vinyl records (tons), custom made curtains and bed spreads, upscale holiday items, Italian Florentine Items, Hancook Dyna Pro Max-trax 285 70R/17 Mud Tires (great condition with low miles) CLOTHES: Designer women's clothing and shoes(Vera Bradley, Guess, Nike, K-Sera, etc.), Mink and Fox Coats, Men's golf shirts, boys clothing 3T and 4T As always, we appreciate your shopping with us and look forward to seeing you this weekend!
