The Hunt continues with a wonderfully layered collection of things that are both very fine and very classic. Find pieces that will easily blend into your home, hospitality regiment and family heirlooms within Elegance on the Charles.

Layering begins with a good base. Stark woven sisal area rugs and runners provide the groundwork for every room in this collection and are the perfect base for this modular armless sectional sofa, with it's hand crafted bones and designer fabric and polished stainless steel cocktail table.

An abstract by Melissa Meyer, a returning fellow at Yaddo, flanked by both funky accents, vintage solid brass fruit and silk, and quality accessories from Donghia navigate the introduction of a thoughtful layered interior.

Donghia accessories include a contemporary silver foil square mirror and decorative Murano bowl with gold flecks was created by the Seguso family who have been producing hand blown glass on the island of Murano in Venice, Italy for more than six hundred years. This selection of glass accessories were available only through Donghia showrooms and illustrate the heritage of one of the oldest family traditions in the world.

Layering antiques into your décor will enliven the space with both context and history. Don't forget good design has achieved many iterations through the decades.

Find depth, with Rebecca at the Well, in the school of Sir Anton Van Dyck (1599-1641), in an antique Persian Heriz carpet and in learning that this set of Royal Crown Derby bone china was purchased from the renowned retailer Lawleys of Regent Street in London.

The focal point of this collection is on designs and materials have stood the test of time.

Featuring sterling pieces from Georg Jensen, considered to be Denmark’s most famous and influential designer, including a 1930's compote bowl with ladle. Designed by Johan Rohde, circa 1930s.

Additional Jensen pieces can be found amongst remarkable jewelry and accessories from other designers like Henry Steig, Christin Wolf and Angela Cummings. Check out this pair of Angela Cummings vintage 18K yellow gold and Hematite earrings, dated 1985.

High quality clothing that was designed to outlast trends. The colors and fit are basic but that is the only basic thing about them the collection is comprised of only cashmere, silk and wools from Zoran, Eskandar and St John. Vintage finds too!

Introducing Leslie, 34 x 26 x 30, most of the pieces in this closet are marked a size O/S: one size fits most. This collection gave our new mannequin quite the break out performance, so we gave her the namesake of the owner of this collection.

High end shoes and accessories including Chanel cap toe flats, a Hermes Garden Party Tote, and a vintage Judith Leiber chain belt with dual frog buckle.

Did you know Judith's husband was equally famous? Gerson Leiber, Judith called him Gus, was an award winning artist with paintings in the collection at the Met and Smithsonian.

Gerson Leiber's etching, Queens Plaza, an homage to New York City's elevated train platforms, compliments this multileveled vintage serving trolly from Kartell.

The focus point of the kitchen mirrors that of the closets and features mainstays of enduring brands including retired Baccarat and Waterford patterns and original Mackenzie-Child sets.

Pealing back these layers there is overwhelming evidence that we are featuring an educated collector, who's mission was to not only enjoy but also a to amass a foundation of learning.

We scoured the bookcases and present a selection of inscribed titles featuring:

Things Fall Apart, Chinua Achebe. The publication of this book helped pave the way for numerous other African writers who were able to find a mode for the expression of the particular social, historical, and cultural situation of modern Africa.

Jacob Lawrence, American Painter by Ellen Harkins Wheat, inscribed by artist Jacob Lawrence "Success - 12/9/88". Jacob Armstead Lawrence (1917 - 2000) was an American painter known for his portrayal of African-American historical subjects and contemporary life.

Joel Perlman: A Sculptor's Journey, first edition, with letter from the artist. " Great to see you and reconnect!"

You have to be smart to have purchased a Yamaha CR-2020 stereo receiver new, in 1977.  This beast is a fantastic mix of everything you want in a big, powerful receiver. Seen here on an icon of 80s design, a folding tiered cart made in West Germany by Louis Lucien Lepoix for FRZ, that has joined the permanent exhibition of the Moma in New York.

Everyone has different layers to who they are - the following items highlight the creativity of this collection and are our staff picks of the week.

Azul Desfiladero Serio/Blue Desfiladero Series, acrylic on canvas.

Carlo Moretti Murano glass tumblers.

Hattie Carnegie custom made red and black dress coat

Girl with Red Hair, Donald Purdy. Surprising since he suffered from color blindness.

Jean Roger, Paris, iconic ceramic frog planter. These are feverishly collected and copied since their inception in the 1960's. Everyone from Coco Chanel to Tony Duquette to Christian Dior to Jacqueline Kennedy was a Jean Rogers fan.

Welcome to a lesson on how to layer. I don't have to remind you that the layers will always be personal, different from anyone else's home, because they don't come from a big box store. Choose your layers like Leslie did: to be meaningful a reflection of your values and the life you live, or want to live.
