This expansive, ocean view, mid-century design Hope Ranch estate shines from the polish of its curated choices, custom design work, and the unfailing good taste of its owners.

Lovers of mid-century modern design will appreciate the Eero Saarinen for Knoll Mid-Century Modern white tulip table with 10 chairs in great condition, the low profile rattan sofa with 8 legs and 6 grass-green velour back and seat cushions, a “statement” large square side / corner table polychromed in bright white and lime green, the sleek Colony House long rectangular walnut dresser / server with 3 doors enclosing open drawers, Ettore DeGrazia artwork, lovely mid-century fine and costume jewelry, and a wonderful selection of mid-century cocktail glasses, decanters, shakers, and barware.

Furnishings for the tasteful traditional décor: a stunning iron and bronze swans head console table with a long travertine top, a fine French provincial style dining table with large draw-leaves and 12 beautifully custom upholstered and caned dining chairs, a full-of-character quarter sawn antique oak tavern table raised on a triangular frame, an Art Nouveau parlor set with settee and chair freshly upholstered in a green and cream plaid, a selection of well made wood side tables for varying uses including a tavern style octagonal style over square base, a carved wood antique 5-drawer dresser, and a clean-lined white dresser, a sturdy stained oak bedroom set, a lighted vitrine / display floor cabinet, and a tall turned wood corner étagère.

Two king beds with custom made lightly quilted bedcovers, upholstered headboards, and bedskirts, each in its own pattern, one with matching upholstered bench, one with matching lounge style bergere chair and ottoman;  one queen bed with delicate raspberry print upholstered headboard, linens and coordinating cream and rose polychromed bedroom set; a pair of twin beds and center chest polychromed in cream and robin’s egg blue with custom matching linens, and  a pair of antique walnut twin beds with rounded carved legs and custom linens and coverlets. Fine design and workmanship in all the details!

Half a dozen great mirrors in handsome wood frames, carved gilt frames, and polychromed frames.  Lamps and lighting fixtures from modern to antique, in brass, turned wood, French glass, painted porcelain, lamps from re-purposed antique containers and accessories, floor lamps, statement table lamps, task floor lamps, and pairs of bedside table lamps.

An entire room devoted to games and puzzles, a wonderful mid-century multi-story doll house in French chateau style fully appointed with period, scale furnishings that promise to fascinate!  A set of Madame Alexander Dionne quintuplet dolls from the 1930s, an entire rack of mid-century young girls’ clothing, and several large shelves of extra fine children’s books - from the Victorian period into the mid 20^th century - that will utterly charm you and your children! Plus an antique wood and iron child’s school desk, and an array of vintage and antique children’s chairs for enjoying those books. 

Six racks and three closets full of fine women’s clothing and accessories from Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, I Magnin, etc:  designer contemporary clothing, vintage couture (including a dress worn to Eisenhower’s inauguration), fine peignoirs and dressing gowns in satins, delicate cottons, and cashmere, a array of mid century fashion hats with vintage hat boxes with delightful shapes and details, quality shoes including many by Ferragamo, purses by Gucci, Rodo, and Koret, and fashion belts, scarves, plus fine coats and jackets.

Soft goods for the lover of luxury: piles of fine wool blankets in neutrals and pinks, down pillows, sheeps’ fleece mattress toppers and other bedding accessories, soft throws and shawls, beautiful table linens, elegant napkin sets, and a generous apron collection for the devoted cook.
