What a hoot of a time we are going to have at this sale! We are in the Lakewood area, Country Club Estates 2 this week. This sale promises to have something for everyone. You will find Hummels amongst the Avon figurines; furniture from rich mahogany to vintage metal shelves; books from coloring to William Shakespeare to the Arabian Knights Collection; record albums range from opera to rock and roll, including the Beatles, Rolling Stones and David Bowie just to name a few. Did you say you were looking for Silver Age comic books or collectable action figures? This is the place to stop and do some early holiday shopping. We have vintage Spiderman, Batman, Justice League of America, Little Lola, The Atom, The Flash, Wonder Woman and much, much more. There is even a great selection of Classics Illustrated. In the cedar chest there is everything crocheted, from bed covers to coasters; in the dining room there is Ruby Red and heart-shaped boxes; Looking for pens, pencils, tablets, journals? We got ‘em all and then some. Holiday decorations range from vintage to new in box, with Christmas, Easter and Halloween are well represented. Marilyn Monroe can be found throughout the house along with Betty Boop, Ziggy and Garfield. There are boxes of teen idol photos; Tom Selleck, Harrison Ford and the “Star Wars” characters can be found on decorative plates. Other celebrities are hiding here and there. Be careful, you might run in to Brad Pitt or Mickey Mouse, and Elvis will be in the room! Don’t forget to see the collection of salt and pepper shakers in the kitchen. Cats are scattered throughout as well as elephants, ducks and unicorns, so watch your step! The banks, ashtrays and cane collections should not be overlooked. For you costume jewelry shoppers, we have a great assortment. While you are there, be sure to pick up a new jewelry box as we have those, too. The master bedroom is where we have racks and racks of clothing; men’s to 3X and women’s to 5X. The master bath holds the large selection of cosmetics, perfume and other toiletry items. While in there, look up to see the vintage Art Deco light fixture. Even the hot water heater, stove, doors and the Arts and Crafts peacock motif Rookwood tile fireplace surround are for sale. Of course, you can still find the basics here: cookware, kitchenware, glassware, occasional tables, chairs, china cabinets, linens to name a few. Don’t forget the garage. Many treasures are hiding out there. There are many unique items in this home. Don’t be in a hurry or you just might miss the treasure you have been searching for.
