Listing Information

WE’RE BACK! And the home we are at is a sprawling mid-century house that holds wonderful items from end to end.  Furniture from Thomasville to Drexler and everything in between. Collections of cats, turtles, shot glasses, Asian and Native American motif items.

Entering this home you can see the living room opening up at the end of the foyer, but don’t let this distract you or you will pass the library on the left.  Books of all sorts, including encyclopedias and year books from high schools and colleges.  Among the books are vases and great decorative items in the Native American motif.  You certainly can’t miss the Tom Clark hand carved statues from the “True Builders of America” series.  From George Washington to garden gnomes there is one just waiting to go home with you. Here, too, you will find a beautiful Chickering Square Baby Grand piano and a stereo “rack” system with Technics components and the tapes, records and CDs to go with it.

Now, on to that living room we saw earlier.  But first be sure and take a look at the small brass chest.  A great piece.  Watch your step as there are two steps down into this lovely living room. There are two fabric sofas along with several accent side chairs, including a pair of blue wing-back chairs.  Lamps from desk top to gilt; great wicker baskets, brass pieces with turquoise inlay, hand carved African figurines, tapestries, antique ladder-back chairs with cane seats and buffet pieces can all be found here.  The art work ranges from original oils to watercolors to paper arrangements. Decorative pieces of all sorts can be found throughout the house.  Collections of cats and Asian motif items found a home in the living area.

Stepping up from the living area to your right is the dining room and kitchen, to the left is the hallway to the other half of the house.  The dining area holds a great, mid-century blonde dining table with 6 chairs by Thomasville.  There is also a mid-century, blonde china cabinet and sideboard.  In the corner you will find a small, antique wash stand, circa 1890.  The dining area also holds a wonderful assortment of crystal, glass decoratives in several colors, a set of Rogers Brothers “1847” silverplate flatware, several sets of stemware and pitchers.  On display in the china cabinet is a collection of decorative miniature pitchers in every shape, size and color.  You are sure to find several to add to your collection.

In the kitchen, you are greeted by another dining table with 2 leaves and 6 chairs.  This mahogany set has a beautiful finish and would make a great addition to any home.  Crystal and china adorn this table.  The china is Kiltcraft by Noritake in the Ireland Kilkee pattern.  You can also find the kitchen “staples” such a Pyrex, Corning Ware, Club Hammered Aluminum, Farberware electric skillet, food warmers, coffee pots, tea kettles and the list goes on.  But don’t overlook the copper chaffing dishes and milk glass pieces.  In the bar area is where you can find the collection of shot glasses and jiggers among the pilsner glasses, martini mixer and barware.  Did you see the collection of cats in the window sill?

The garage is the place to find, not only tools and light bulbs, but also refrigerators, a great wine cooler, a vintage ashtray collection and a daybed, just to mention a few items.

Making your way back to the hallway and the first bedroom on the right.  There is a lovely, vintage wedding dress with a beaded bodice.  Against the wall you will see a full size bed with a headboard and footboard.  Please don’t miss the peacock inlay on these pieces.  They are great!  This bedroom also holds a small roll-top desk, more lamps, a television and a closet filled with ladies clothing.  Many vintage pieces, a collection of wrap-around skirts and peignoir sets are must see items.  And, of course, the mink stole is worth a second look!

The second bedroom on the right is where we have housed the office items.  A black, faux leather high back desk chair sits in front of another, yet larger, roll top desk.  Yes, it has all the cubby holes and little drawers you would expect in a desk of this sort.  There is an assortment of office supplies, electronic items, a brown leather side chair, a great two-drawer lateral and wooden filing cabinet.  There is also two blue fabric matching “square” chairs and a Wilcox & Gibbs antique sewing machine.  The slides in carousels are also in this room.  Oh! There is a large (5’x9.5’) United States flag with 48 stars….don’t miss it.

The master suite is at the end of the hallway.  Here is where you can find a mid-century Drexel king-size bed, headboard and chest of drawers.  There is an early American table, a fabric covered small swivel rocker with matching ottoman, a lovely cedar chest and a great Domestic antique sewing machine.  Yes, we have 2 with treadles!  Linens, tablecloths, towels and comforter sets are all in this room.  There are many sets of placemats and napkins and many of the tablecloths have matching napkins, too.

The sliding glass door in this room lead out to an enclosed patio.  Beautiful white wicker furniture, 2 black and gold tone baker’s racks and more furniture are on display in this wonderful little room.  There are 2 coffee tables, one glass topped, the other marble; a tall sofa table is not only functional, but it’s a piece of art in its own right.  There is also some holiday decorations with 2 unique nativity scenes.

On the back patio there is a wheelbarrow, decorative planters, terra cotta pots and a small assortment of wind chimes.

We are looking forward to seeing all of you again.  Come on by and say hello and pick yourself up a treasure or two!  Oh, yeah, please do your "non" rain dance for us before you leave!
