The offering and sale of property by Antique Helper/Ripley Auctions is subject to the following conditions of sale, as modified or supplemented by other written provisions and/or in announcements made by the auctioneer, prior to or at the time of the sale.
BUYER’S PREMIUM: A buyer’s premium of 20% will be added to all lots, when bidding absentee, or by phone. Bidding through Artfact Live will have an additional premium of 3%. A discount of 3% is available for non-credit payment, for bidders in attendance if paid in full on day of sale.
PAYMENT: Payments are accepted by Cash, Check, Money Order, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, AMEX, Bank Wire Transfer and Paypal. The maximum payment by credit card or Paypal is $10,000 for any one auction and any balance over that amount will need to be made by bank wire transfer, Money order or Check. The full purchase price plus all applicable taxes and fees is expected before removal or shipping of any of the items. Guaranteed payment may be required for removal of goods for new or out-of-town bidders.

We make every effort to accurately describe each lot using complete descriptions and detailed photographs. You may email or call us with any questions prior to bidding. Any concerns regarding lots not being as described, must be brought to our attention within 48 hours of your receipt of the item. All sizes, weights and ages of lots are approximate. We encourage you to visit and inspect all lots during preview and/or carefully examine all additional images provided with the online catalog and ask for more information, when needed. It is your responsibility to know what you are bidding on prior to placing any bids. Please note that any lot listed with “attributed” or “style” cannot be guaranteed to be the work of the noted artist or period.
Shipping:
Unlike most auction companies, we provide seamless shipping services with one convenient invoice and take care of all of the shipping arrangements. We do this to make the auction buying experience more pleasurable and satisfying for our valued customers. Collectible wine lots may be subject to delivery restrictions.
SMALL ITEMS: We do our own packaging and use USPS, UPS, FEDEX and Pakmail to ship. We encourage customers to email or call us for shipping estimates prior to the day of the auction. After you are the successful bidder we will send you an invoice which will include your shipping charges. For your protection, full insurance is required and will be included in your charges. We strive to provide you with a professional job at a reasonable price and you will be furnished with online tracking information once your package is shipped.
OVERSIZE ITEMS OR SPECIAL PACKAGING: To streamline the process for our customers, we will contact the shippers after the auction, add the shipping charges to your invoice and bill you for the entire balance due. You will then pay Antique Helper and we will arrange for pickup and delivery of your auction items with the preferred shipper below.

COINS AND RESTRICTED ITEMS: Some items are considered restricted commodities by Fedex, UPS, and DHL which includes Coins, Currency and Bullion and cannot be insured by these carriers. If the buyer requests one of these carriers then the insurance liability falls upon the buyer. Coins and Currency can be shipped by USPS and can be insured. Antique Helper is only responsible for items while in our possession and we will not be responsible for an item after a carrier or third party shipper picks up the item(s). In the unlikely event of a lost or damaged item, it is the sole responsibility of the buyer to contact the carrier and have the insurance claim filed.
REMOVAL: Removal shall be at the expense, liability, and risk of the purchaser. Antique Helper, Inc. shall not be responsible for items not removed within 10 days of the auction. Lots not paid for and/or removed within the time specified may be resold at public or private sale without further notice.
COMPLIANCE WITH TERMS OF SALE: The contract of sale may be considered, “in default”, if payments are not received within 7 days of winning bidder’s receipt of invoice. Legal action may be pursued against buyers in default on payment. All monies received as deposit or otherwise, will be retained for damages, when applicable.
ADDITION TO OR WITHDRAWAL FROM SALE: Antique Helper, Inc. reserves the right to withdraw from sale any item listed.
DISPUTES BETWEEN BIDDERS: The decision of the auctioneer shall be final and absolute.
PERSONAL PROPERTY AND RISK: After an item is declared “Sold” it becomes the sole responsibility of the successful bidder. Neither Antique Helper, Inc. nor staff shall be liable by reason of any defect in or condition of the premises on which the sale is held.

Indianapolis, IN – Ripley Auctions will present its first Fine Art + Design Auction of 2013 on Thursday, January 24. The auction, which will offer more than 200 lots of fine and decorative art, will be held at the Indianapolis facility of sister company Antique Helper Auctions. It will also broadcast online at Artfact.com, reaching a worldwide audience of online bidders.

 

Built around the expertise of company owner Dan Ripley and St. Louis art dealer Thom Pegg, Ripley’s Fine Art + Design Auction will feature a broad selection of important works in a variety of styles and mediums including American paintings, Indiana Art, Modern Art and Design, and Italian glass art.

 The January auction will introduce a new area of specialization for the company with a substantial section of lots by many of the American Studio Glass movement’s most influential artists. Significant works by Dale Chihuly, Lino Tagliapietra, Harvey Littleton, Joel Philip Meyers, Richard Marquis and Paul Stankard will be offered for sale, among others.

 

Included in the fine art portion of this sale are a number of pieces that represent some of the most important artists from Indiana including George Winter, William Forsyth and Glenn Cooper Henshaw. All three would prove to be highly influential on not only their contemporaries in Indiana but artists throughout the region. 

 

From Frank Lloyd Wright to Frank Gehry, titans of design are also represented throughout this auction. Included are significant historical pieces from throughout the 20th Century up to and including contemporary studio furniture. Highlights include excellent examples from Stickley, Knoll and Saarinen. 

 

The auction will be held on Thursday evening, January 24th at 6 pm. An auction preview will be held from 2 – 6 pm on Thursday afternoon in the Antique Helper Auctions gallery at 2764 East 55th Place in Indianapolis.
