Bid online now through Wednesday, December 17th at alderferauction.com.  This auction will begin closing at 8 PM at a rate of 5 lots per minute. Active bidding will be auto-extended 3 minutes for each lot once it begins to close.

The sale features notable prints by recognized masters including Salvador Dali with three lithographs: "Bullfight," "Dream," and "Joan of Arc," showcasing his distinctive surrealist imagery. Additional prints include works by Guillermo Silva's "Supermercado de Arte" and Michel Delacroix's "Magic Circus," both representing contemporary printmaking. Wolfgang Roth contributes multiple circus-themed screen prints from 1973, offering collectors opportunities to acquire series pieces from his theatrical work.

Regional American artists provide the core of the painting collection. Florence Prince Ewing contributes multiple oil on canvas works depicting Hawaiian coastal landscapes, industrial scenes, and maritime subjects. Melville F. Stark offers coastal and harbor scenes capturing atmospheric seaside moments. R. Woolston Rapp provides pairs of landscapes featuring covered bridges, mills, and seasonal views, representing accessible American landscape painting.

Contemporary art appears through substantial groupings from two artists. Louis Tavelli (1914-2010) presents multiple lots from his "Warrior," "Faces," "Fear," and "Abstract Landscape" series, offering modernist drawings and oil on paper works using bold colors. Alfonso Caliendo contributes abstract compositions including a striking series of women with pronounced red lips numbered as part of a 1980s series, demonstrating Pop Art influences.

Sculpture features prominently with works by Raymond Rocklin (1922-2014), including clay pieces, mixed media constructions, and metal sculptures ranging from figural works to abstract forms. These pieces demonstrate brutalist and surrealist approaches to three-dimensional work.

Prints include works appealing to collectors of Americana and rural scenes. Peter Keating, Dan Campanelli, Pauline Eble Campanelli, and Peter Sculthorpe contribute landscape prints depicting farms, barns, and countryside subjects. These accessible works represent popular decorative art suitable for both collectors and home decoration.

Historical interest appears through French Art Nouveau advertising posters including "Papier à Cigarettes Le Moulin Rouge" and "Nouveau Cirque la Foire de Seville" by Jules Cheret, representing turn-of-the-century commercial lithography.

Asian influence appears through Japanese woodblock prints and Chinese watercolors, adding international variety. Works by Ogata Krin and Gyojin Murakami demonstrate traditional Japanese printmaking alongside contemporary pieces.
