Bid online now through Wednesday, March 11th at alderferauction.com. This auction will begin closing at 7 PM at a rate of 5 lots per minute. Active bidding will be auto-extended 3 minutes for each lot once it begins to close.

Historical highlights begin with an 18th-century oil on board by George Morland titled "The Bon Fire," which depicts a Dutch-inspired scene with figures and livestock. The sale also includes a watercolor study of a cloaked figure by Thomas Sully and a coastal landscape titled "Feeding Hens on the Coast" by Robert Gemmell Hutchison. Other traditional landscapes are represented by Blanche Dillaye’s impressionist watercolors, Valeri Gojiashvili’s "Charles Bridge, Prague," and Gerard Chambeltaz’s "Saint-Paul-de-Vence."

The auction contains a significant selection of modern and contemporary art. Notable pieces include Richard Lindner’s "Poet from Fun City" lithograph and a Marina Picasso estate lithograph after Pablo Picasso’s "Notre Dame." Surrealist influences are found in Max Ernst’s "Le Vaisseau Fantôme" and works by Seymour Zayon. The sale also showcases an extensive body of work by Murry Handler, featuring his gestural abstract acrylics, ink figure studies, and spontaneous watercolors.

A major component of this auction is a large collection of work from the estate of award-winning artist Jeanne P. Kelly. Her portfolio includes various landscapes, floral studies, and European scenes such as "Cliffs at Cape Cornwall," "Woodland Stream," and "Red Cliffs at Ghost Ranch." Her work is complemented by other 20th-century offerings, including color lithographs by Hisashi Otsuka, monotypes by Carole J. Meyers, and woodblock prints after Utagawa Hiroshige.

Natural history and illustrative art are featured through multiple prints after John James Audubon, including his "Flamingo" and various selections from the "Birds of America" series. Chromolithographs from Alexander Pope Jr.’s "Upland Game Birds and Waterfowl of the United States" are also available, alongside a grouping of lithograph prints by Norman Rockwell and a movie poster for "Der Blaue Engel."

The collection is rounded out by diverse offerings such as outsider art by Gary Mangold, charcoal portraits of Ethiopian subjects, and several artwork groupings featuring French watercolors and illustrative drawings. This auction provides a wide-ranging opportunity to acquire works across a broad spectrum of artistic movements and media.
